"I attended the first 2 Folk Magic Festivals. It is hard to put into words the full experience. The weekends include workshops that are specifically developed by Starr Casas Orion Foxwood Susan Diamond and Sindy Todo generally highlighting their specific knowledge and backgrounds. The topics have ranged from cleansings, how to work with Black Hawk, The Bible in Conjure, Prosperity work, Love and Romance, Doll making...I can go on and on. The workshops are a mix of lecture and hands on experiences. Often side trips are coordinated with locals such as Bloody Mary, a visit to the cemeteries, local shopping, etc.

"The Folk Magic Festival of 2013 was very spiritual for me. I found a true spiritual family. The classes was very informational. The energy was real high it took me a wk to come down. If you have never been to any you are missing a life time event. I got a chance to talk, laugh, and enjoy people I speak too on the internet everyday face to face. The teacher spoke with us all weekend before and after class. You could we talk to them to the wee hour of the morning. The warmth that came from the group was the over the top. I found that the event I was able to still talk to the teachers online. While there the teacher took us around NOLA. I felt like I was on a Family Vacation. If it Gods Will I will be there again. –Angel

"The Folk Magic Festival was a truly empowering experience. The event is held in the magical city of New Orleans, where Witchcraft, Voodoo, Hoodoo, Conjure and Native spirituality have converged for centuries into a powerful blend of unique regional magic. What touched me most personally was that it didn't matter who you worship or what your religion is. You will get something from this experience because magic is a thread that weaves through all faiths. Starr Casas and Susan Diamond's workshop, Clearing the Way, was steeped in Christian lore and theology but this did not make the process any less magical for this Witch. In fact, it was made all the more so by virtue of Starr's deep faith and connection to spirit and Susan, equally magical and coming from a more Pagan background, was able to blend her wisdom with Starr's in a way that brought us to a crossroads of spiritual power.

"I have been fortunate enough to attend all of the folk magic festivals and the information and friendships gained are invaluable to me. It is because of the festivals I am now lucky to be doing what I love to do. I am very blessed to have learned first hand the old ways and the true spirit of conjure. These people have changed my life, so for that I am always greatful. I love ya momma!" –Izzy

  • I attended the first 2 Folk Magic Festivals. It is hard to put into words the full experience. The topics have ranged from cleansings, how to work with Black Hawk, The Bible in Conjure, Prosperity work, Love and Romance, Doll making...I can go on and on. The workshops are a mix of lecture and hands on experiences. Each of them also vend their wares and are happy to find time to chat with you about what they make and do. No where will you have a better opportunity to learn from these real and caring conjurers face-to-face and heart-to-heart. What I like most is they provide a lovely mix of backgrounds and knowledge from different perspectives. imageOrianna
