Voodoo Boogaloo into the World Of New Orleans Voodoo: A Ceremony of Celebration with Bloody Mary
Voodoo is a danced religion. Voodoo is a musical religion. And, New Orleans Voodoo was, is, and always will be.... a "Celebration to the Spirits". People have come to New Orleans since the 1700s to discover Voodoo and they still do! Evolution, improvisation and ceremonial rejoicing is inherent in the very core of our Voodoo. So, the best way to understand New Orleans voodoo is to experience it. So come and dance, sing, or even.... just watch andallow the spirits to touch your spirit. During this celebration you will experience a special tribute of service to the spirits. We will honor our mother-spirit, the Mississippi; and, Marie Laveau, the Loas, the voodoos and the ancestors too. We will call the spirit of place, and the spirits inside THIS place in a historical venue that evokes memories and magic - The Bourbon Orleans Hotel. This site has been in the center of it all for 300 years. So, dance where the Quadroons danced. Sing where the theater-greats sang. Pray where the Sisters of the Holy Family nuns nursed the sick . Healing of mind, body and spirit is the Voodoo way! So come to dance and heal as we trance-dance with the spirits. New Orleans Voodoo Queen and Mambo Asogwe Bloody Mary will be presiding.
