Auntie Sindy Todo

Sindy Todo small black-055

Born and raised on the Texas-Louisiana gulf coast and a true Southern Rootworker, my Cajun/Louisiana ancestral gumbo is fully reflected in my conjure and is representative of the blend of cultures found there.

I am a conjurer, spiritual coach, energy worker, healer, intuitive, and card & bone reader.  I also serve as a spiritual bridge between realms.  My gifts are ancestral and passed down to me from my Cajun and Lebanese grandmothers.

An art major in college, and then a motivated manager, I have always been in service to people in every career I’ve had from food and beverage to antiques and chocolate. In addition to my magical business affiliations, for 16 years in the mundane world I have owned a unique management coaching and accounting business that specializes in working with creative entrepreneurs.

In addition to traditional conjure and craft work, I fashion a line of sophisticated artistic talismans that I design for various types of rootwork. In 2013, my magical work with railroad spikes extended beyond these elegantly adorned talismans to the creation of a unique, inspired divination board called Spikeomancy.

I’m a practical gal and a creative whirlwind who listens and lives in spirit. From there I am guided in my work.  I love to activate and connect people to what they are seeking and the direction they are taking.  I am rooted in positivity and believe that one should humbly approach life’s situations with generosity and gratitude.  I believe magic and rootwork, when balanced with the mundane, can create momentum and movement.

I reside in Seattle Washington with my beloved husband of 29years and my two beautiful Shih Tzu’s who are my constant companions that energetically watch over and guard all my work.

Bloody Mary

Bloody Mary is a true spokeswoman of her hometown, born and raised a “Delta Babe”, she became known as “The Ultimate Insider” and, specifically, “The Poet Priestess of the Spirit of New Orleans.”

Born on the bayou and baptized as Mary Millan, Bloody Mary was raised in the Crescent City. Her family roots reach back to 1718 stemming from the Alsace-Lorraine region of France. She is a tenth generation Creole with deep Catholic roots. Mary grew into a sincere and valuable priestess who serves her town primarily as a psychopomp. She is known publicly as Voodoo Queen, celebrity historian, author, psychic medium, and owner/operator of the infamous Bloody Mary’s Tours.

As a true mystic, she combines her abilities as a Shaman, Mambo and Psychic into all aspects of her life. As an artist, she designs her work with an empath’s heart, a historian’s detail and a researcher’s mind. Her mystic abilities have always lent second sight into all of her ventures and continue to aid her impeccable storytelling, ritual execution and, of course, paranormal investigations. These gifts help her to create a full, well-rounded research technique that she shares with her guests for twenty-two years. Her psychic knowledge works in tandem with avid research, creating a unique and holistic approach to understanding her home town of New Orleans and the unseen worlds in which we live.

Orion Foxwood

Orion Foxwood in Santa CruzBorn with “the veil” (a localized term for the second sight) in 1963 in Winchester Virginia, an area located in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia that is rife with folklore, ghost tales, folk magic and lore. His father was part Lakota Native American and his culture is Southern and Appalachian. His mother was born in a slave quarter on a plantation called “The Hollingsworth Place” in 1934 where a freed slave affectionately known as “Miss Granny” was both her midwife and spiritual God-Mother. All of these distinctive elements formed the foundations of his cultural spirituality and magical practices as a teacher of “veil” practices that focus on spirit work and conjure.

WolfSashaShootingPoolShimmering Wolf grew up in Texas in a family culture where connection to God was prominent. Along with a Catholic educational upbringing, this is what initially paved the the roads of his life with a connection to Spirit.

His conventional religious upbringing did not quite satisfy his hunger for direct connection to, and experience of, the creator and the spirit-world. He longed for something deeper and more intimate. He always felt this through his art, photography and his connection to animals.

What Past Attendees Have Said

  • I attended the first 2 Folk Magic Festivals. It is hard to put into words the full experience. The topics have ranged from cleansings, how to work with Black Hawk, The Bible in Conjure, Prosperity work, Love and Romance, Doll making...I can go on and on. The workshops are a mix of lecture and hands on experiences. Each of them also vend their wares and are happy to find time to chat with you about what they make and do. No where will you have a better opportunity to learn from these real and caring conjurers face-to-face and heart-to-heart. What I like most is they provide a lovely mix of backgrounds and knowledge from different perspectives. imageOrianna
